Winning Starts With Beginning

I have a couple of habits I'd like to build into my life.

Some of them are part of my daily routine. Others? I'll occasionally mention but are constantly on my mind. It's soul-sucking. Paralysis by analysis has crippled me at times. Hence the title of the article. I want to build more wins in my life.

Be it small or big, wins do wonder for the mind.

A damn good place to start ticking off wins is creating a list of what you want to do each day. I have the best intentions. Maybe even more so than yourself. But guess what? That means nothing when you do nothing. Intentions are thoughts. Be it good or bad, they remain solely the benefit of you and you only. Until you do something.

I'm a guy that needs a plan. I love spontaneity and I despise spontaneity. I'm quick to ride the energy levels of emotions, only to fizzle out when I'm left to the trappings of my thoughts. Spontaneity often leads to responding to the whim of others.

Wins get sparse when it feels like life is a whack of have tos. Humans hate shit they have to do.

I've decided to make use of the Productivity Planner I purchased January 30, 2017. That's the first day I wrote in it. January 31, 2017, is the last day. As I said, I have the best of intentions. Nobody ponders the incredible things you thought and shared with no one. It's the moments you shared a piece of you and someone feels something, those are the moments that are burned into your memory.

This is a 30-day challenge. Today is day one. I thought about starting tomorrow but I know better. As Fathers should, they tend to say some real shit occasionally. Or in my Dad's case, a lot. When it came to procrastination, I was a master. I'd half listen to him tell me "the best time to start something is today. The second best? Yesterday." I think I finally get it. Thanks, Dad.

Complete an entry in the Productivity Planner for 30 consecutive days. Blog post to follow. Gotta keep me accountable.
